What is your eating philosophy?
Simple, balanced nutrition with minimal environmental impact. We eat stuff that comes from nature. We don’t buy into diet fads. The best research studies show a balanced diet of whole foods, mainly organic plants, is the healthiest way to eat.

What makes Pure Food Protein different/better than other protein powders?
 

  1. We don’t use artificial chemicals, GMOs, gluten, corn, soy, dairy, or any animal products. Just clean, organic, real food ingredients.
  2. We only use natural, low temperature methods to make our protein powders, which preserves essential nutrients.
  3. We pack 20 grams of organic vegetarian / vegan / plant-based protein, 4 grams of BCAAs, and 4 grams of fiber into each serving.
  4. We don’t use any artificial sweeteners or highly processed “healthy” sweeteners. Instead, we use sustainable superfood plants with natural sweet flavor profiles like mesquite, vanilla, and a hint of stevia leaf.

Where are your ingredients sourced from?
All of our proteins are grown on organic farms in the U.S., Canada, and Belgium. Learn more about where all of our other ingredients comes from on our Ingredients page.
How are your ingredients made?
We use a natural, low temperature, enzymatic sprouting/fermentation to extract our plant proteins. This preserves essential nutrients and makes the protein more bioavailable (digestible) while removing anti-nutrients such as lectins. Many companies use hexane, a dangerous chemical solvent that’s a byproduct of petroleum refining. We think that’s irresponsible and deceitful … and defeats the whole purpose of eating a “clean” protein powder. Even companies that don’t use hexane use high temperature processing methods, which destroys most of the healthy nutrients. Learn more here.
How many servings are in a bag?
Depends on how you want to use it. 1 scoop = 10 grams of protein and 2 scoops = 20 grams of protein. There are 32 scoops per bag.
How much does it cost?
$39.99 for a single bag or $31.99 when you subscribe for our autoship program (you can custom how often you want a bag and cancel any time). Free shipping regardless of which option you choose.
Are your products certified organic?
Yes, we are certified organic through Scientific Certification Systems, Inc.
Is Pure Food Protein allergen-friendly?
All Pure Food products are allergen-free. However, they’re not produced in a 100% allergen free facility (our manufacturer also processes milk, eggs, wheat, soy, and tree nuts (almonds and coconuts). Check out our complete ingredients list on our nutrition facts labels.
What is the phosphorus content in Pure Food Protein?
Pure Food Cacao Protein: 114 mg (per 32-gram serving, or every 2 scoops) Pure Food Vanilla Protein: 225 mg (per 32-gram serving, or every 2 scoops)
What's the shelf life of Pure Food Protein?
2 years. If you store it in a cool, dry place even longer than that. We recommend refrigerating to preserve as many nutrients as possible. It is real food, after all.
How does Pure Food Protein taste?
It has an earthy, subtle, natural flavor with only a slight hint of sweetness (not overly sweet). It’s a little chalky on its own but blends perfectly in any smoothie recipe.
Does Pure Food Protein mix well with other fruits, vegetables, etc.?
Definitely. We recommend pretty much any plants and some healthy fats (seeds, nut butters) blended with water or plant milk and ice for the perfect protein shake. We’ll email you a whole bunch of recipe ideas before your order arrives.
Have your products been independently tested for heavy metals, mold, pathogens, etc.?
Yes. All of our products undergo 3rd party testing to monitor heavy metal levels, BPA, and glyphosate (we tested negative for the latter two). Our ingredients meet heavy metal standard levels set by organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO), National Science Foundation (NSF), US FDA, European Union, and Canadian Natural Health Products Directorate. Is Pure Food Protein easy on the stomach?
Yes. We add 1 billion CFUs of probiotics to every serving of our protein. It’s backed by 25+ peer-reviewed research studies that show its beneficial effects on gas and digestion, immune function, nutrient absorption, and more. How often should I consume Pure Food Protein?
1-2 scoops each day is enough for most people. If you’re trying to pack on more muscle, 2 scoops a day will help you get there a bit faster.

When will I receive my order?
You’ll usually receive your order within 4-8 business days for most U.S. states and 7-14 days for international orders. You can check the status of your order here (U.S. orders only).
Can I change or cancel my order?
Orders are processed and shipped fairly quickly so please contact us here immediately after placing your order if you have changed your mind. If we get your request before it’s processed we’ll do our best to modify or cancel it.
Do you offer returns/refunds after I’ve received my order?
If you weren’t happy with your order, please contact us at info@purefoodcompany.com and we’ll send you a replacement or refund.

When do I get billed for Subscribe & Save?
Once you place your initial order we’ll bill you every month on the same day. You can check to see when your next payment is due and cancel any time on your account page. If you want to change your next billing date, just email us at info@purefoodcompany.com.
How do I renew/change/cancel my subscription?
Go to your account page and click Subscriptions. To put your subscription on hold, select “Put Subscription On Hold.” You can restart anytime without re-entering your credit card info. To cancel, select “Cancel.” Note: if you plan on restarting your subscription at any point in the future, we recommend putting your subscription on hold (see above). Once you cancel, you’ll need to submit a new order and re-enter your credit card information. If you want to change your subscription frequency or quantity, contact us and we’ll take care of you. 

Payment Questions

What type of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB) via our secure SSL payment gateway (more below about this). You can also use PayPal.
Is it safe to enter my credit card information on your website?
Absolutely. All credit card transactions are processed through the ultra-secure Stripe payment gateway (the same payment system used by Twitter, Pinterest, Kickstarter, and more). Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology as well as HSTS. All card numbers are encrypted on disk with AES-256. I have a promo code, how do I use it?
You can apply your promo code on the Checkout page. Enter it in the box and click “Apply Coupon.”

We ship to the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and most countries in Europe and Asia.
How long will my order take to ship to me?
4-5 business days, on average.
